Backup & Disaster Recovery Services in Saudi Arabia
iPower designs, deploys and tests backup and disaster recovery for your servers, virtual machines and Microsoft 365, with immutable copies against ransomware and recovery plans that are proven, not assumed.
Most organizations have backups. Far fewer know how long a full recovery would really take, or whether their backups would survive a ransomware attack that targets them first. Since 2016, iPower has supported infrastructure for banks, government entities and large enterprises across the Kingdom. We study what you run today, design protection around how fast each system must return, deliver it with documentation, and stay with you to monitor and test it.
Request a quote1The problem we solve
- Backup jobs that run every night but have never been restored end to end, so recovery time is a guess.
- Backups on the same network and admin accounts as production, making them an easy ransomware target.
- Microsoft 365 mail, OneDrive and SharePoint data assumed to be "backed up by Microsoft".
- No secondary site, or a DR site that has drifted out of sync with production.
- Auditors or regulators asking for evidence of recovery testing that the team cannot easily produce.
2Scope of work and what you receive
Backup design & deployment
Protection for servers, virtual machines and Microsoft 365, with schedules and retention set according to how critical each system is.
Replication to a secondary site or the cloud
Copies of critical systems kept at another location so services can resume if the primary site is unavailable.
Immutable backups for ransomware protection
Backup copies designed so they cannot be changed or deleted during their retention period, leaving a clean copy to restore from.
Disaster recovery plans with scheduled recovery tests
Documented steps, priorities and owners, tested on an agreed schedule.
Backup monitoring & reporting
Job status, failures and capacity tracked, with regular reports for IT and auditors.
What you receive at handover
- Recovery targets agreed for each critical system
- Deployed backup, replication and offsite or immutable copies
- A documented recovery runbook
- Results of a restore test before handover
3Support and maintenance after delivery
- Backup job monitoring and failure follow-up
- Scheduled restore and DR tests with reports
- Capacity and retention reviews

Saudi regulatory alignment
Backup and recovery is an explicit requirement in several Saudi frameworks. Where they apply to your organization, we factor them into the technical design:
NCA Essential Cybersecurity Controls (ECC-2:2024), Backup and Recovery Management
Backups must cover critical assets, allow quick recovery after incidents and be tested periodically. Mandatory for government entities and critical national infrastructure operators.
SAMA Business Continuity Management Framework
For SAMA-regulated institutions: a documented IT DR plan, a backup and recovery process, and periodic, documented DR testing together with the BCP.
PDPL and data residency
If backups or replicas go outside the Kingdom, personal-data transfer rules apply, and some data (e.g. government data) may need to stay in Saudi Arabia. We factor this into the replication target.
iPower supports the technical controls and evidence; formal compliance remains the responsibility of your organization and is confirmed by the relevant regulator or auditor.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between backup and disaster recovery?
Backup keeps copies of your data so you can restore files, databases or whole systems. Disaster recovery is the plan and infrastructure that bring complete services back, often at a secondary site, within an agreed time. Most organizations need both.
Do we really need to back up Microsoft 365?
In most cases, yes. Microsoft keeps the service running, but protecting your data against deletion or ransomware is largely your responsibility. We include Microsoft 365 in your backup design so mail and files can be restored independently.
How do immutable backups protect against ransomware?
An immutable copy cannot be changed or deleted until its retention period ends. If attackers encrypt production and try to destroy backups too, a clean copy remains.
How often should we test recovery?
It depends on your sector and each system's criticality. NCA ECC requires periodic recovery testing, and SAMA expects regulated institutions to carry out periodic, documented DR testing with the BCP. We agree a schedule and document every test.
Can we replicate to the cloud instead of building a second site?
Yes. Replication can target a secondary site or the cloud. We compare cost, recovery time and data-residency requirements with you before recommending an option.
How long would it take you to recover today?
Request a backup and DR review. We will check what you protect today, how it would recover and where the gaps are, then send a tailored proposal.
